The staff at Farmington Hills-headquartered X by 2 LLC includes team members that are “bilingual in business and technology.” However, when it comes to creating an optimal work experience for all of its team members, X by 2 focuses on just one language, and that is the language of gratitude.

We are “lucky” to have our team members, says Alyssa Reuter, director of People & Culture at X by 2.

“A lot of companies feel employees should be ‘lucky to have a job,’ when in reality, we’re lucky to have them,” stated Alyssa Reuter, director of People & Culture at X by 2, a custom software development and consulting firm, which earned the No. 3 spot among small companies in the 2023 Michigan Top Workplaces Competition. “We have outstanding people on our team and beyond a workplace, we’re focused on building a comfortable, collaborative atmosphere.”

Reuter’s words are backed up by the positive outcome the company has witnessed during 2023.

"In 2023, our company grew significantly, and as we expanded, we discussed how to maintain our collaborative culture at a greater scale," said Alyssa Reuter, director of People & Culture at X by 2.

“In 2023, our company grew significantly, and as we expanded, we discussed how to maintain our collaborative culture at a greater scale,” Reuter explained. “We continue to host in-person and virtual team building events, which have been successful with new hires, while offering plenty of opportunities to share feedback. We’ve only seen our team grow closer and stronger—it’s amazing to see.”

And while X by 2’s leadership has liked what it has seen during 2023, Reuter says the company continues to listen in an active manner.

"Our culture remains strong because our team feels empowered and respected," said Alyssa Reuter, director of People and Culture at X by 2.

“The most important role we play as leaders is to listen, but it means little without action,” Reuter stated. “We modify and update our benefits and perks based on employee feedback. While many offices are requiring employees to come back to the office, we know our team values the flexibility our hybrid remote policy offers, and when people can work from home and they still come in, it says something about company culture.

“Our culture remains strong because our team feels empowered and respected. We know employees enjoy perks like our home office and wellness reimbursement program, but we also welcome new ideas and critiques. At the end of the day, our employees know best!”
