Championing Women In Technology

X by 2 Announces Partnership with MCWT

Closing the gender gap and supporting women in technology is vital to the growth and success of the industry. We support the advancement of women in technology and are proud to partner with the Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation (MCWT). From encouraging young girls to consider IT, to developing the next generation of leaders, MCWT is dedicated to achieving their vision of making Michigan the number one state for women in technology.

“Every day we work toward our mission to inspire and grow women in technology. A diverse IT workforce is vital to Michigan’s transformation, and we strive to engage and retain female professionals here,” said Chris Rydzewski, Executive Director of the MCWT. “I am pleased to have X by 2 join our large community of corporate and educational partners. Together we are able to make amazing progress on diversifying Michigan’s workforce.”

To date, this philanthropic organization has awarded $1.54M in scholarships to over 200 deserving young women. In addition to establishing numerous internships with partner companies, MCWT has initiated career programs such as ConnectNet, a quarterly online event allowing members to network and make connections in an informal setting. The organization also engages members with Lunch and Learn sessions, mentoring opportunities, and the recently launched Leadership Clinic that prepares women for the C-suite.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to help encourage and support girls and young women interested in technology as well as empower those paving the way,” said Samantha Suter, Associate Director of Talent Acquisition at X by 2. “We’re fortunate to have a local organization, like MCWT, dedicated to inspiring and nurturing women in technology and look forward to helping support their mission.”

As part of this continuing partnership, X by 2 is volunteering at the upcoming 15th Annual Southeast Michigan MCWT Golf Classic Fundraiser at Indianwood Golf & Country Club on July 26. For more information on how to get involved with MCWT as well as other upcoming events, visit mcwt.org.
