Farmington Hills, MI — August 21, 2026 — X by 2 has been named one of Michigan’s Best Places to Work by Crain’s Detroit Business for the eighth consecutive year, placing #10 out of 100 companies on this year’s list.
A lot can change in eight years. Since X by 2 first received this recognition in 2019, the firm has grown its team, broadened its work across healthcare and insurance, and evolved how and where people work. While the company looks different today, its focus on creating a strong employee experience has remained consistent.
“Over the past eight years, X by 2 has continued to grow and evolve, but our commitment to creating a place where people feel supported, connected, and able to do their best work has remained constant,” said Alyssa Reuter, Director of People and Culture. “We’re incredibly proud to be recognized as a Best Place to Work for the eighth consecutive year and grateful to our employees who continue to make X by 2 what it is.”
Culture isn’t a project you finish
Crain’s recognition incorporates anonymous employee feedback, providing an annual look at how employees experience their workplace.
This year’s survey results reflected particularly positive feedback around the work environment, relationships with supervisors, leadership, professional development, and overall engagement. While the survey provides an annual snapshot, listening to employees is an ongoing part of how X by 2 approaches its culture.
Feedback through the adviser program, year-end conversations, and everyday dialogue helps shape how programs, benefits, and the overall employee experience continue to evolve. The goal isn’t to preserve the workplace exactly as it was when X by 2 first earned the recognition, but to continue listening and adapting while holding onto the parts of the culture that matter most.
“We’ve never treated this recognition as proof that we’re finished,” said David Packer, President. “Our workplace continues to evolve, and so does what our people need from us. Eight years in, we’re still asking and still adjusting.”

Growing without drifting
Some of the biggest changes over the past eight years could not have been predicted. X by 2’s first recognition came before the pandemic reshaped where and how people work. What began as a temporary shift to remote work eventually evolved into the hybrid model the firm has today, one of many ways the employee experience has changed since 2019.
As the company has grown, its culture has evolved with it. Employee-run groups continue to create opportunities for people to connect around professional interests, emerging technology, leadership, and interests outside of work. There are also simply more people today, working across consulting, engineering, sales, and the teams that support them.
Through those changes, many of the fundamentals of X by 2’s culture have remained. Employees continue to have an adviser in their corner, benefits and programs continue to evolve based on feedback, and many of the anniversaries celebrated here are still counted in decades rather than years.
That consistency hasn’t come from any one major change. It’s been built over time by continuing to listen, adapt, and make thoughtful improvements along the way.
Eight consecutive years on Crain’s Best Places to Work list reflects that continued effort and, most importantly, the people who continue to shape X by 2’s culture every day.
