Annually, Crain’s Detroit Business spotlights companies across Southeast Michigan for fostering outstanding workplace environments. On Thursday, Aug 24, Crain’s welcomed representatives from Southeast Michigan’s top businesses to an awards ceremony at the Cambria Hotel Downtown Detroit. X by 2 Head of People and Culture Alyssa Reuter was asked to sit on the Crain’s Best Places to Work panel and discuss what makes X by 2 special.”We stress importance on employees having a choice,” Reuter shared during the panel discussion, “a lot of the perks and things we do at X by 2 actually come from the people.”
Reuter shared information about X by 2’s flexible work environment, unique home office perks and the company culture well-loved by its employees. Notably, she spoke on success and personalization within the X by 2 advisor program, which pairs employees with mentors to encourage professional growth and development.
“What we’ve found is it gives [employees] that one person — that constant — you can build a relationship with and feel comfortable with,” Reuter said, “…[the advisor program] has been very successful, but we also keep a good pulse on it. At the end of every year, I send a survey out to advisees to get feedback on their advisors.
